Each painting is created by sparring 12 rounds at 3:00 minutes a piece with an opposing canvas wrapped object. The sustained baggage of strikes pushes the paint deep into the fibers of the material creating impossible to recreate tones and hues. Different size and weight punching bags create different obstacles for me to overcome and each painting will be created by physically beating paint, tar, and pigments into these canvases. The relic of these acts of aggression and beauty will be captured hit by hit. Each bout there will be a new element added to create a new tone for every action.
Changing my body, sharpening my mind, commanding this physical outlet, and creating something beautiful out of something considered so ugly. This project was designed to revisit my past while using my physical nature to create works of art by way of an impression of Violence. Having back issues a good portion of my life It also provides a hardline platform to heal my body through destruction and creation.
