the ghost city project was started as my response to the construction of Albany NY’s Empire state plaza. 98 acres of downtown Albany was bulldozed to make way for the new massive and epic complex. This project is not about mourning the lost neighborhood, but embracing the past and making these buried city streets purposeful once again. Throughout the years I have expanded this project to include many other city’s lost, gone, and forgotten streets.
These impressionistic abstract figurative paintings and murals are created as if you are trying to explain a memory. When viewed close it seems to be a mash of intentful strokes, each area its own painting. When the pieces are taken in as a whole they are a vibrating static collage of streets that only exist in the form you are viewing them in.
This is an ongoing open-ended project.
Pieces are created by request only.
Always accepting commissions..
